Today’s post is a poem I wrote earlier this year. It explores how the connection with another can impact one’s strength and persona. I will briefly analyse the poem from the perspective with which I wrote it after posting the poem. Please feel free to interpret the poem from your own perspective, and do let me know your views!
Ere connections break Bliss prevails within. Unknowing of its identity, Mind perceives reality.
Reality being but bliss, Yet truth itself. Bliss is mere joy, Joy of connection.
The bonds begin to fray, The bliss to erode. Joy fades with gradualness, Announcing only emptiness.
Despair of loss, Sinks within. Quest for strength, Lives on within.
No longer light, The world is dusk. Darkness is yet, A threat to be.
The poem explores one sequence of events after a connection breaks. In this particular sequence, the joy that connection entails is shattered. The bliss starts fading, and one does not realise this until it has vanished altogether. However, the absenteeism of the other person has not dampened the protagonist’s views of reality. The latter, despite having lost the cherished connection, continues to perceive reality as positive. Therefore, the despair of loss is inevitable, but it sinks, while the desire to find strength rises to the fore. The world has taken on an aura of dusk, caused by the break of the connection. However, the quest for strength provides the sliver of light which is not lost. Therefore, darkness has not manifested itself as a daunting threat to life.
That was the brief overview of the poem. Please do leave your feedback and feel free to interpret this poem differently. I will be posting more poems in the future, along with other issues. Have a nice week!
See you soon,
